SkyKing's Back Seat Warrior Series
We call these DAW models “BACK SEAT WARRIORS” They are the perfect planes to keep in the back seat of your car ready for action whenever you can slip away to your favorite slope site.
If you don't already know it, Dave's Mini Warbirds can handle a lot of wind so don't be afraid to toss them out on those 30 MPH days. They love big air and will thrill you with how well behaved they are. But they can also be a lot of fun when the wind is light. That makes these little planes one of the most versatile slope models you'll have in your quiver.

We are also including a model that was not part of Dave’s original offering. It’s a Micro BD-5. We realize that the BD5 is hardly a warbird but it fits in with the Back Seat Warrior concept so well that we are including it. This design will be familiar to many slope addicts. It has been produced by a variety of model makers in many different sizes. Our version of this popular design features a clear canopy and a vacuum formed instrument panel to dress up your kit.
Here are some shots that Greg Smith took on a trip to South Dakota.

Here’s a shot of Ed Tuckers modified Apache. Ed moved the canopy back and shortened it to give it a race plane look. He also added the small dorsal fin in front of the stab.

Ed Tucker also built this slick looking BD-5. It flies in both light and heavy lift. 30 mph is no trouble for this guy and it also flies in 10 mph with great agility.

Jim Porter’s gorgeous Apache was tearing up the slope in South Dakota. Like all of Jim’s builds it’s a showpiece.
