About Us
Message from the owners:
I have always been
fascinated with flight.
I started flying Radio
Controlled aircraft over 35 years
ago. As much as I enjoyed flying my
Piper Tri-Pacer and Quicksilver
ultra light as a licensed private
pilot, my real passion has always
remained with RC.
As a self taught RC pilot
(before flight simulators), I know
the hardships of trying to learn
alone and avail myself to helping
others learn whenever possible.
I have also had the privilege
of teaching by wife and three boys
how to fly RC.
The boys continue to fly when
their busy school and sports
schedules allow it.
I was introduced
to slope soaring about five years
ago by a club member and immediately
got hooked.
As a resident of the
flatlands of eastern South Dakota,
my quest soon became searching for
any hill big enough to generate
lift.
It wasn't long before I got
re-acquainted with a long time
friend from our fun fly competition
days, Rob Hurd.
One thing led to another, and
before you know it, I was making
fiberglass fuses, bagging original
design wings and DS ing the back
side.
I am very excited
to continue SkyKing RC Products as a
joint venture with my son, Mark.
Together we plan to continue
the business that Ed has built, and
also expand with some exciting new
ideas.
We have the greatest respect
for Ed and wish him well in his
retirement.
We appreciate his generous
willingness to work with us the next
few months during this transition.
Our goal is to
serve you promptly with a quality
product line.
We look forward to your input
and ideas as we venture into new
product lines and hopefully meet
many of you.
See you on the
slopes or flying field

Growing up
in a RC family, life has been
good. I soloed on a nitro
trainer around the age of 9. I
enjoy all kinds of RC
flying like 3D nitro, hand
launch, thermal duration,
aerotow, and of course SLOPE!
The first time I went soaring, I
was hooked. Although I will
always play with the other toys,
my heart lies on the slope. When
the South Dakota seasons allow,
I generally fly 3-4 times a
week.
My wife Amy and I got married in
April of 2005. RC even made it's
way into our wedding ceremony.
Our pastor looked my bride in
the eye and said to her, "You
are gonna have to learn to love
airplanes." Amy teaches at
Watertown Christian School as
well as continuing to go to
college. We live happily with
our 2 spoiled English Setters.
Other "hats" that I wear
include: being an avid hunter, a
not so avid fisherman, Varsity
Soccer Coach,
Audio/Video Director at our
Church flying
my full scale Cessna 150. I also enjoy a variety
of shooting sports.
I am so excited about SkyKing RC
Products. The only way something
like this truly works is if it
is a labor of love and we at
SkyKing love this hobby.
May the lift be plentiful and
gravity be gentle,
Mark Robbins
